Unit Title:   Poetry in universe is all about Love 诗关宇宙 情系万物

Summary:  Poetry is easy to sing and is most suitable for expressing human emotions especially in expressing people's feelings  towards nature. In the study of rhetorical devices,  students focus on the study of "symbolic" rhetorical devices to strengthen their  understanding of imagery and artistic conception. From the actual meaning of words, we can explore the relationship between "meaning" and "image" in Chinese culture, so as to understand and use the influence of this relationship on the emotional expression of poetry and think about the importance of "imagination" in poetry.

Unit Title: Exploring Nature  探索自然

Summary:    Extensive reading and analysis of non-literary texts related to nature or texts within the scope of other non- literary genres, such as public service advertisements related to nature, pictures and scripts presented in documentaries, natural sciences and humanities. Students will analyze and report on environmental issues from their perspectives, interpret the relationship between people and nature,  and promote  in-depth reflection on how human beings should get along with nature in order to achieve a balance.

Unit Title:  A Beautiful World 美好世界

Summary: Extensively read a variety of  literary works featuring fairy tales, discover the various aspects of life in fairy tales, and understand the relationship between fairy tales and life, such as the disparity between the rich and the poor, social class, the loneliness and desolation encountered in life, and human nature. Kindness, strength, hypocrisy, stupidity, cruelty, etc. To unveil how fairy tales express people's yearning for a better life, such as how the little prince retains the beautiful world in his heart, how the little girl who sells matches hopes to be warmed and cared for, and how the tourists of Peach Blossom Land marvel at that ideal of a beautiful world.

Unit Title: Into the Unknown  勇闯未知 The Kite Rider, ZhuangZi, Superheroes  and Beijing Opera         

Summary:  Mapping plot for view into theme, motif and symbol: Students work together to map the story arc.  From the arc, they analyze the themes in common from chapter to chapter and look for recurring  motifs and colour symbolism.  Exploring concepts for creating a portfolio, documenting work in a visually interesting way, and  writing a rationale: Support for linking thought process back to “The Dream of the Butterfly” as a  reflection on the conceptual question, “How do we go from the known to the unknown?”
